Restoration and functional recovery of a church for the construction of a multipurpose center serving the city.

The project started from an accurate survey and careful bibliographic and historical research to reconstruct the various evolutionary phases of this structure.

The courtyard, closed and inaccessible, regains its original cloister meaning in the project proposal, as well as becoming a place for meeting and meditation. The vegetation helps to recall the ancient position of the colonnade supporting the external portico and assumes the function of shelter from sunlight.

The study of the external deterioration has allowed in the design phase to identify the correct recovery actions of the building, while the one carried out inside the church has been associated with a historical and comparative analysis with other architectural examples of the area to define the correct element chroma recovery solution.
